Erling Haaland’s hat-trick record can be compared with Premier League legends

It was Haaland’s second straight Premier League hat-trick after last week’s 3-0 defeat against Ipswich. Erling Haaland completed his eighth Premier League hat-trick but took longer than the Manchester City striker to get on the scoresheet.

He opened his hat-trick account against Crystal Palace on August 27, 2022, and repeated the trick against Nottingham Forest four days later, making him the only six player to have scored a hat-trick in consecutive Premier League games.Les Ferdinand had his first breakthrough at the start of the Premier League season.

By contrast, the longest gap between back-to-back hat-tricks spanned more than three months, as he scored on the opening day of Wigan’s 8-0 win over Chelsea on the final day of the 2009–10 season to win the title.

Ian Wright, Wayne Rooney and Kane are the others who have scored back-to-back hat-tricks.Wright played against Ipswich and Southampton in March 1994, and Rooney followed up the feat with three goals in United’s 8-2 thrashing of Arsenal earlier in the 2011-12 season, a 5-0 win over Bolton.

Kane, along with Haaland, is the only player to achieve this feat twice. The England forward scored his first hat-trick in the final two games of the 2016-17 season, three days after a 6-1 win over Leicester and a 7-1 win over Hull City.1993 Later that year at Wembley, Tottenham Hotspur’s temporary home, a 3–0 win over Southampton was followed by a 5–2 victory over Southampton.

Fowler made his first appearance for Liverpool against Southampton in October 1993 and his ninth came eight years later for Leeds at Bolton. In second place in the list is Alan Shear, 11.Nine are Blackburn Rovers. The other 2 are Newcastle.Shear scored in a 3-3 draw against Leeds in October 1993. Leading the way for Premier League hat-tricks is former Manchester City man Sergio Aguero, who finished with a dozen in 275 games. The Argentine’s first hat-trick came against Wigan.  In the coming year, emulate Agüero’s record total for the same amount of time between his opening hat-trick and his next.He scored eight hat-tricks in almost two years.Haaland is surprisingly the fastest;  Shearer and Kane aren’t too far behind in less than three years. Since his move from Dortmund, Manchester City have scored just 11 times in the Premier League, scoring more than 40 percent of their goals.
