Mikel Arteta insists he will send his Arsenal players in the Champions League clash at Manchester City.Manchester City midfielder Rodri said Arsenal “just wanted a draw” and showed the “difference” in mentality when the teams met in the title race last March.
Gunners coach Arteta said, “Of course we will try and prepare to win.To do that, we have to do a lot better.Because we all know it takes a big Performance to defeat them. It’s a good opportunity to get to know the team we’re struggling with and show what we’re capable of. It’s going to be really competitive. It’s the home of champions. The most consistent team in history, not only in terms of results but also in terms of influence, is undoubtedly a challenge. But we’re going to go there and compete and prove that we can go to the next level to win.”
Arsenal have scored 11 goals in their first four games, nine more than any other team, in their goalless draw with Inter Milan in the Champions League.
Arsenal have managed just six goals in their opening five games, including their Champions League clash with Atalanta. They drew at Atlanta on Thursday and now travel to Manchester City for their third away game in a week.Manchester City will play an extra day after being held to a goalless draw by Inter Milan on Wednesday.
“It’s rare to get three away games in six days like that, but we have to be ready. In some areas we want to improve, but in order to do so; It is important to be much better and we definitely need to create. There is no question about that. We’re really open to discussing it. But the process has to be good, so there needs to be consistency to create opportunities.”
